Les Courroux de cette généalogie sont des paysants cultivant les terres du nord-ouest du département de l'Allier, aux abords de la forêt de Tronçais.  Dans la seconde moitié du XIX ième Siècle, ils migrèrent dans la région de St Amand-Montrond, à l'ouest de leur région d'origine. The Courroux of this genealogy were farmers in the northwest region of the present department of Allier, at the fringes of the Tronçais Forest. During the second half of the 19th Century, they migrated into the region around St Amand-Montrond, west of their ancestral homeland.
